Over six years, this boutique festival has become a cultural hub for film enthusiasts, artists, and critics in the twin cities. Showcasing cinema, art, fashion, lifestyle, and cuisine, HBFF has attracted renowned personalities like Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Tarun Majumdar, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Abir Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Rituparna Sengupta, among others.

It sets the benchmark for building and scaling a successful festival centered on creativity and cultural exchange.

SEED

Besides feature films, HBFF has a separate section for screening short films and documentaries from around the world. Extremely popular with budding as well as notable filmmakers, this section receives submissions from India, Bangladesh, Iran, Syria, Germany, UK, and many other nations. Over the years, films that have been screened and awarded in SEED have also gone on to make appearances in global film festivals and won international recognition.

Award Winning Films in HBFF

The prestigious Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival awards are given to participating films across a wide range of categories. The jury consists of eminent critics, filmmakers and actors who convene and arrive at the top film in each category. We also have a popular viewer’s choice award which is decided by the votes cast by the audience at the end of every screening. Here, we take a look at our award-winning films over the years.
