After three resounding years of success, the fourth edition of the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival was upon us in 2017. From the very beginning, our endeavor has been to elevate the festival to new heights every year and introduce elements which would make it even bigger than the showcase of Bengal's finest. In the fourth year, we introduced Telugu as the guest language of the festival in an effort to facilitate cultural exchange and strengthen the ties between Bengal and Telangana.

Representing the guest language were two of its best known and highly acclaimed movies-"Naa Bangaru Talli" and "Pelli Choopulu". Bengali films selected for screening included "Tope", "Bisorjon", "Abby Sen", "Osomapto", "Bibaho Diaries" and "Peace Haven". Additionally, Bengal's favorite detective and the immortal creation of Satyajit Ray, Feluda, turned 50 and to commemorate the occasion, we screened the very popular "Bombaiyer Bombete" and an extremely well-researched and presented documentary by Sagnik Chatterjee entitled "Feluda: 50 Years of Ray's Detective".

Notable guests at the event included actors Abir Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Swastika Mukherjee. Directors Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Sohini Dasgupta, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Sagnik Chatterjee, Mainak Bhaumik, Sunitha Krishnan, Rajesh Touchriver and others. Other notable personalities included Debesh Chattopadhyay, Siladitya Sen, Satarupa Sanyal, Sujay Dutta Roy, KNT Sastry and several others. It was an action packed, fun filled weekend as usual and was rounded up in style with our signature viewer's choice awards.
